To get ready for Android development, there are a few skills and languages you’ll need to feel comfortable with. This section guides you through these things. Many of the courses you will work through are from Udacity, including the very first lesson about Git version control. You will need to create a Udacity account using your Banno gmail before you begin. To do so, visit this webpage. After that, go ahead and begin with Git Version Control!
Pause point! Now, your mentor will create a repository where you will store all of your projects for the apprenticeship. For each new project in the following courses you will checkout a new branch and create a new directory within your repository. At the end of a lesson, open a pull request targeting main and schedule a time to meet with your mentor and review your code for the project. Your mentor will help you through all of this the first time. After your mentor has gotten you all set up, go ahead and start in on Java!
