Register.com

All new domain transfers and purchases will go into our register.com account.

Renewals

Emily will reach out via email to the CWA (Client Web Administrator) about 30 days prior to expiration with details on what domains are expiring and when. At that point, the CWA will reach out to their FI (Financial Institution) contact and get approval on the renewal and cost. Once you have approval from the client, respond to the email Emily sent and she will handle the renewal process from there. The billing is done through their monthly JHA bill. This will not be done in a jSource CWR.

  1. All domains are renewed at $25/year (for up to 9 years) except .mobi
  2. .mobi domains are renewed at $35/year (for up to 9 years)
  3. Domain Privacy - $16/year per domain (automatically renews each year and can only be purchased for the single year)

Transfers

Our account can accept almost all standard domain extensions. If your client is wanting to transfer a more uncommon domain extension, reach out to Emily to double check we can accept it. We cannot accept .bank domains in our register.com account.

Before we initiate the domain transfer into our account, the client will need to make sure the domain is unlocked and then provide the transfer key. Domain transfers typically take between 3-5 business days to complete.

  1. The transfer fee is $75/domain. This covers the cost of transferring the domain and includes 2 years of registration.

If a client wants to transfer their domain out of our account, just send an email to Emily and she will unlock the domain and provide a transfer key. If Emily is out of the office, you can email Krishna or Shea to complete this process as well!

THINGS TO NOTE WITH TRANSFERS:

  1. Transfers can take approximately 3-5 business days, so if the domain is coming up for expiration, have the client (or us if it’s our account transferring away) go ahead and renew this for 1 year or wait until after its renewed to transfer.
  2. Transfer Keys Expire. Once we send out transfer keys to a client, they need to initiate it as soon as possible. The key typically expires after about 2-3 business days.

Purchasing New Domains

If a client wants to purchase a new domain, we can look it up on Register.com to see if it is available. If it is available, we can purchase it for the client (at the same rate as renewals).

  1. Standard domain extensions: $25/year (for up to 9 years)
  2. .Mobi domains: $35/year (for up to 9 years)

Updating Domain Info

If any information is needing to be updated for the domain, whether its name servers or contact information, reach out to Emily via email and she can complete this request.

Network Solutions

(Often referred to as JHA Domains)

These are typically older JHA clients, there are not many domains left here.

We are not the primary owners of the domains in these accounts. We are only setup as ‘tech contacts’ so we have limited access. We primarily can only renew the domain, edit name servers, and view the domain info. If a client wants to transfer the domain to another account, they will need to login as the primary account holder or contact NetSol Support.

The only domain info we can update within the Network Solutions accounts is the domains’ name servers. Any other information must be updated from the main account holder user account.
